Christina Kelley-Astorga

Christina joined Tyson Foods as a Production Supervisor after completing her education at Arkansas State University.    She had the opportunity to work in the bakery division, slaughtering and deboning operations before becoming the Quality Assurance Manager and HACCP Coordinator at one of the most diverse meat and poultry further processing facilities in Tyson’s family.

Her involvement with the SQF Program began in her years with Kellogg’s Snack Foods.  As Quality/Food Safety Manger, she developed and implemented the SQF 2000 Systems Program at one of the first manufacturing facilities in the US to become SQF Certified in 2005.

Upon leaving the Kellogg’s organization she became the Technical Director of the SQF Institute, a Division of the Food Marketing Institute in Washington, D.C.  Her responsibilities included Chairman of the Panel Review Committee which reviews and approves SQF Auditor and SQF Consultant applications, member of the Technical Advisory Council which provides direction on the SQF Code requirements and development of many of the training materials, presentations and work books that are still in use globally today.

Today, Christina and her partner own and operate Food Safety & Quality Systems, LLC a licensed and accredited training center.
